A Muslim man speaks out – a-z Azir and other Muslim men, will you listen up? & plain Palin comments…

I ran a post a few weeks back ‘Quran says wife beatings are OK? With WHOM?’ and have had a sporadic e-mail and blog conversation with a-z Azir. Now, another male Muslim commenter has this response to your, um, comment content, Azir. I do hope you can take in the message without wanting to ‘shoot the messenger’? Please?

Hmmm, how do I preface all this correctly? After the above post ran – Azir left a long polite commentary but still it justified the ‘only one passage’ re: men having ‘jurisdiction’ over women ‘according to Allah’ who apparently does not revere brains over brawn, we all know women are much better multi-tasker’s in life, and that’s NOT a put down to men. I love men – the astute enlightened ones, jerks can take a hike : )

Anyway…I wrote ANOTHER post and this anon (not to be confused with anonz aka sweet pea) responded with this personal story. These are his words. I have no reason to give further commentary. It illustrates the point of both my posts perfectly ‘as is’.

Thank you, anon, for allowing me to print this and allowing others a window into your life. I think it’s an act of bravery, even as an ‘anon’ (anonymous) it is very revealing…

And here is his story…

I have a father like Azir. These men walk around like little demigods. They rule their homes as tyrants. They will die for a religion that gives them such power. The women will die too, at the hands of these sick men if they object.

These men have NO feelings for their female relatives. A man will allow his son to tell his mother what to do and his son’s mother. He will kill his daughter if she is kidnapped and he suspects the kidnappers will say that they raped her.

My sister was more afraid of being returned by her kidnappers than she was by what they did to her. My boyfriend, an American, helped her escape while my father was trying to determine if she was raped when the kidnappers returned her to the family.

We were reading Michelle’s spirited column while my family was ransoming my sister and brother back. My brother was raped but that only made my father swear out a vendetta against the wrong doers. While he was calling down the wrath of God on them for what they had done to my brother, he was planning to kill my sister if she had been raped.

My sister confessed to me and swore me to secrecy. While she was in the hospital to determine if she was still a virgin my boyfriend spirited her out of the country. He could have been court-marshaled for what he did for us. I thank Allah for bringing him into our lives.

My mother, sister,and other women who had Michelle’s comments with that STUPID islamic woman who was defending islam. Please believe me when I tell you that most islamic women that can read and write hate islam and all that it stands for.

The next time you hear an islamic woman lauding the teachings of the koran, ask her how she feels about being told what to do by male children. Ask her if she chose her husband. Ask her if she will be allowed to choose her husband. If she gives you some bull that we live in a different culture. Forced marriages are forced marriages. Someone is being denied the right to choose for his or herself. That can not be justified with that is our culture. It is not our culture it is a man’s way of forcing his will upon the female population of his country in the name of god.

These women are being forced to espoused that stuff. They can not say otherwise less they be declared guilty of crimes against god and be put to death. Don’t bother arguing with them. They already agree with you, they just can not say it. Pity them. Give them a platform to talk. They like us are hoping that someone will voice dissent. Pay no attention to their feigned disagreement. They have to say they disagree or their males will punish them.

There is nothing to debate about islam, unless three is some woman out there that can honestly say that she believes that a man is more equal than she is or that she believes that Allah left the man in charge of the female. That is a premise that is as stupid as it is ridiculous. Anon

Oh my, is there anything else I could or should add, I’m afraid not, this story as it is leaves me just speechless…ah, and did you notice he didn’t capitalize ‘islam’ so I won’t either.
