Politics and telling like it is…day two…

Day two of the ‘sweet pea monologues,’ let’s let the good times roll, shall we?

…just for the heck of it, I’m going to throw in my two cents in here and there, cuz, you know, I can : ) my words in bold italics… oh yeah, FYI…the AH and the bon bon line yesterday, that’s Alexander Hamilton he’s referring to, sorry, I probably should’ve added that in parens.

Anonz starts in on ‘Bill Clinton’ with…the Dem’s…

‘…So lets examine these named people you have put before us as an example of “good and evil.”

1. Barack Obama - The more you argue against this guy the more likely I am to vote for him. This is a guy who graduated from Harvard Law at the top of his class, yet he went to work for peanuts. I know that he is black but, even a black lawyer with those credentials could command a hefty salary. — Can you name a Republican who didn’t use every opportunity and every connection he had to maximize his profit potential? Go ahead name one? (aargh part of me wants to punish you for saying ‘even a black lawyer’ but I’m going to chalk it up to the part of you that’s still metamorphisizing) oh and I don’t know a republican with serious cash flow that hasn’t been in the ‘good old boy’ system, I grew up in CT and had interaction with mils/bils where they’re a dime a doz in Southport and Westport not to mention Greenwich, all of Fairfield county really..some serious old money repugs live there.

2. Hillary Clinton - As a lawyer she used her position to put up a pretty good fight for the people she felt were not getting a fair shake. I may not have agreed with her opinions, but I certainly can not say her intentions were not genuine.— Most Republicans that opposed her did not do it for philosophical reasons, we did it to make money; either for ourselves or for those that contributed to our campaigns or for those who provided some benefit to our family, friends or associates. My point is we who apposed her had no altruism to fall back on.

3. Bill Clinton - Say what you will about him as a lawyer, or human being, but you can not take away from him the fact that he did what Republican presidents have only promised. He balanced the budget and left the next president a trillion dollar surplus.

4. John *and Elizabeth* Edwards are lawyers but again they use their lawyering skills to fight for what they perceive are rights of the ordinary man. You can hardly balance this against the Republicans that are fighting them to protect the rights of the wealthy and the big corporations. They fight for the environment while the Republican party would trash the environment for a few dollars more for their corporate donors. All of which have huge law firms on retainer. (thus the term ‘repugnican’ it’s so fitting, don’t you agree?) hey, ‘John Edwards and his wife,’ what the…, she doesn’t have a name, just some permanent arm candy status? C’mon, babe, don’t be like that, we’re talking about an educated woman here, give that the credit it deserves.

The Majority leader in the house is a lawyer. Perhaps had the previous Republican majority been a lawyer, he would not have been caught with his hands in the cookie jar.

Before I continue, I wish to make it clear that there are an abundant of crooked Democrats too. And I feel safe in saying if the independents get a good foot hold in either house before the corruption is cleared up, a good many of them will succumb to the temptation of all that PAC money floating around. (cash makes people weird in general, Indie’s can fall prey same as anyone else, it’s tough not to sell out, you have to be a woman/man of honor/principle, not everyone is, especially when a large check is involved)

OK, that’s a wrap…for today…

Commenter: ‘Bill Clinton’ are you out there or has anonz sent you into your ‘Men are from Mars’ hibernation cave? If you’d like to give a rebuttal, feel free to come out…the floor is open…

Comment here or @ Lmdevin@att.net or Lillian@lilliandevin.com - Ciao!

…And a friend of mine wants to know, are any of you commenters the stalker type, she’s just concerned for my well being. I laughed and assured her you are all harmless, am I right?!

    hey ZL:
Hmm…I’ll play devils on the other side. Not that anonz can’t hold his own- we know he can, but I didn’t feel that he was being racist here. He was simply stating the fact that white lawyers make more money than black lawyers do, ( we know this is true) and that even those he’s black he could command a hefty salary. I read it as a compliment…Though not sure how he meant it now. Funny…once again no one can ‘feel’ the emotion that is behind the words to really know what was intended here.
I’m with ya on the wife thing though :)
It’s a wrap for me today too but hey what is going on with the comment type? - it is way small - did you change something?

    Love,
    Michelle

    Zen Lill

Your “sweet Pea” is back. First let me say that you are a delightful task master. I will try to respond with the right amount of aplomb. I will take your questions, critiques in numerical order.

    1. Barack Obama - Okay so sue me, biases and prejudices die hard. I would be less than honest if I told you that I was totally free from the years of indoctrination that led me to that state.

But, now, I do know better. I know that I am not better than anyone because of my race, sex, or religious persuasion. If I for any reason fall back on any of those prejudices or biases, I will be guilty of using them as excuses for my on faults, jealousies, fears, or desire to just not make waves with those who do(another word for being a coward in the face of doing what is right). I refuse to be a coward.

Hence, I will never allow someone to tell me a racist or sexist joke without me reminding him/her that I don’t tell or listen to those types of jokes. Neither will I allow someone to abuse another physically or mentally under those circumstances.

When I said “even a black lawyer” I didn’t mean it derogatorily. I was simply pointing out the reality of his situation. If one is a black male in this country he will very seldom be able to command the salary, position, or respect that any other person with equal skill or accomplishment could in this country.

Those that pretend not to be aware of this fact or who claim that it is not true are liars. The reasons for their lies are their own secret, but they are definitely knowingly lying. The reason white men make it their business to deprive black men of an equal economic and social opportunity in this world is jealously and fear. We secretly, openly, and definitely subconsciously envy their sexual superiority and physical skills.

We are constantly reminded by their accomplishments that if they enter any sport previously the exclusive bastion of white males, they will soon dominate it. Witness, how they have changed any sport that they have been given a fair opportunity to compete in. We have even lost golf to them. One black man has so dominated golf as to make it his sole arena of expression. Golf will be forever remembered as a sport played by Tiger Woods. Even though he did for the sportsmen of golf what Ali did for boxers increased their incomes by an added zero, most of the white players still hate him because he is black. His impact on the sport has allowed players finishing in last place on Sunday to make more money that Jack Nicolas or Arnie did when they won. Yet, most still hate him because he is black. So now we jealously guard the sports involving cars, water, Ice and skates, less some black guy enters and demonstrates to the world their superiority in all things physical. For now we are safe for they are sports that involve a sizable investment to begin competing in.

Which brings us to our fears, what if we gave them an equal opportunity at all things mental? Wear would the average white man be? How would he be able to compete for his white woman if she had a choice between a physical and mental superior being. Don’t scoff. Look what George Washington Carver did with the peanut. Remember he was competing with white men with access to the best education in the world. Speed forward to Obama.

He has changed the way money will be raised by political candidates forever. He has found a way to allow the little person to be as influential in politics as the wealthy candidate or his big donor. He has shown the country how to break the overwhelming influence of special interest, PAC, big corporations and a host of other big money contributors.

Money is still the live blood of politics. Yet it took a black man using his mental skills, to find perfect a new source and way of tapping into it previously unavailable to the white mind. Dare we give them more opportunities in all things mental?

We must insure that our white women understand that if they choose a black man over a white man she and her children will never have an equal opportunity to a share of the economic rewards of their mental acuity. If we don’t, would we get picked as often as the black?

So racism is as simple as any male animal species competing for the right to mate with the pack of females. Witness the gamut from the male lion to the male peacock. It is a constant struggle to gain acceptance of the female or dominance of his male rivals so that he can mate.

Was that too long an answer for number one? Perhaps I should answer them one day at a time.
